every 20 seconds, and yet only one home in 20 has an intruder
alarm fitted. 84% of all recorded crime is against
property. The Police think that in the majority of
these cases we are making it too easy for the burglars. Very
often they walk straight in through an unlocked door or enter
via an open window.
The main deterrent to the would-be crimesters would be to
